Welcome to peacelovez.com, a tumblin' account of ongoing conversations in the universal language of music. Hip-hop, beats, Soundclouders, Myspace holdouts, #internetmusic (lol?), souls of tone, and futuristic bedroom producers are all welcome. Basically, you'll find tomorrow's tunes here. Don't expect any flying cars, though.

I'm a Journalism student at Ryerson University in Toronto, ON. I'm also the Creative Director of Rye's Student Hip-Hop Organization chapter. I do photography, web stuff, writing, and even make a decent coffee. I blanket myself in curiosity and music, and I'm always looking to connect with others who want to build something positive.

Send any inquiries, potential gigs, music submissions, lowkey free stuff, your sister's phone number, or anything else to eric.zaworski@gmail.com. Peace.

I’m so happy for the success Soulection has seen in the past year. Pushing the L.A. beat scene to new and exciting places, this music collective, co-led by Joe Kay, has quickly become one of my favourite internet radio shows ever. They’re on every Saturday at 1 p.m. EST on the KBeach radio stream, and you can listen to past episodes on their Mixcloud.

Get familiar with these guys, they’re putting out some of the most interesting music in the world right now, and I can’t wait to see what else they have in store for 2013.

James Blake - Take a Fall For Me (feat. RZA)
itunes & official site

James Blake’s part of this track was revealed during his BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixand has been refixed with a few bars from Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA. He posted it to his Tumblr this morning, and I’m sure glad he did. This song is a good example of the continual beat deconstruction narrative pushed by act like Shabazz PalacesWhy?, and others. I like hearing RZA  is hip to it, even if the song’s a tad awkward at times.

Don’t be fooled by his falsetto, and impish demeanour of England’s Blake, either. The guy is a real capable producer, and with word that he might be working with Kendrick Lamar, expect even more unexpected risks taken on the boards.

Overgrown drops next Tuesday, but it leaked this morning.

Inc. - Black Wings

Black Wings

Inc.

No World

“Black Wings” by Inc.

I really never thought much of these guys when I first heard them, back when they were known as Teen Inc. (good name change! but hard to Google!) and dropped this. Then the Guardian referred to them as (warning: you might puke) “boudoir’n’b,” and I didn’t ever hear of them again until an English journalist for Fact Mag had the gall to assume these guys were trying to take the blackness out of black music. That’s another topic for a time when I’m not blogging to avoid homework another day, but all I can say is, um, no. Noo.

Smooth song, though. Really getting into this album. The kind of music you don’t mind listening to while you do taxes, or clean your room, or look out a window while smoking. Unfortunately for Inc. bros. Daniel and Andrew Aged, you can probably expect to hear this at “a coffee shop where everybody’s happy” pretty soon.

Justin Timberlake - That Girl

That Girl

Justin Timberlake

The 20/20 Experience

“That Girl” by Justin Timberlake.

JT’s latest effort, The 20/20 Experience is available to stream on iTunes today. Feel like this is a pretty great song, and there are a few other good ones on here. Didn’t quite feel “Suit and Tie,” maybe because I’m not quite old enough to. I don’t even own a full suit (anymore, you heathens. The jacket ripped). Not quite through the whole album just yet, but I haven’t encountered any hilarious beat boxing…… yet.

And while we’re on the subject of Justin, remember this one? I was 13 when it came out, and was all over it. Sucks the only real song Curtis and JT ever worked on together was “Ayo Technology.” The beat is pretty good on that one, so go listen to that.

PRISM Mix 003 comes courtesy of Sivey, kicking off what’s set to be a big year for him with both a collab EP with Evil Needle (who brought us last months PRISM Mix 002) and a solo EP lined up.

Following on from the success of his Frank Ocean ‘Pink Matter’ refix, which turned heads and introduced a lot of people to his meticulous ear for sound, Sivey showcases an expertly mixed selection of tracks that he’s feeling right now as well as a few exclusives thrown in for good measure to give you an idea of what you’ll be hearing from him this year.

Here’s the full track list and download.
