Welcome to peacelovez.com, a tumblin' account of ongoing conversations in the universal language of music. Hip-hop, beats, Soundclouders, Myspace holdouts, #internetmusic (lol?), souls of tone, and futuristic bedroom producers are all welcome. Basically, you'll find tomorrow's tunes here. Don't expect any flying cars, though.

I'm a Journalism student at Ryerson University in Toronto, ON. I'm also the Creative Director of Rye's Student Hip-Hop Organization chapter. I do photography, web stuff, writing, and even make a decent coffee. I blanket myself in curiosity and music, and I'm always looking to connect with others who want to build something positive.

Send any inquiries, potential gigs, music submissions, lowkey free stuff, your sister's phone number, or anything else to eric.zaworski@gmail.com. Peace.

LIFE IN TORONTO (an essay for school)

I’ve never lived further than the Greater Toronto Area in my life. It’s as much in me as I am within it.

Mississauga is just west of Etobicoke, on the other side of Highway 427, and that’s where I spent the majority of my upbringing. More space. I always had a bigger bedroom than my cousins, who grew up in High Park, East York, the Junction, and Kensington Market, at least, until I had to start sharing my bedroom with my brothers when they were born.

I visit my parents and two brothers once a month, and get there via the same GO bus route I used every weekend from age 14-19 to go hang out downtown, for no other reason than to be there. Back then, the window displays, lights, loud noises, unfamiliar faces, frightened friends, and new friends, all seemed exciting. They don’t anymore. I don’t know what that says about me.

“Higher Ground” by TNGHT.

It just got announced by mymanhenri of 92bpm.com (if it isn’t already, add this to your bookmarks). One of the surprise shows of the year to send off 2012 as one of the best music years of Toronto yet for me, it’s shaping up to be show of the year. Toronto jazz-act BADBADNOTGOOD will be holding court, and Henri will probably be jumping on the decks to get the night started. Yes, you should go. Tickets go on sale Friday morning at the usual suspects (Play De Record, Rotate This, Soundscapes). You can also buy them online when they go on sale. See you there.
